"Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning...They have to play with what they know to be true, in order to find out more, and then they can use what they learn in new forms of play."
- Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers' Neighbourhood

In my home I am fortunate enough to have a dedicated daycare space that the children will spend their day! We have even put in an addition of a kitchenette so everything that I need to take care of the children is right there!
Play enhances development in all areas:
emotional, social, cognitive, language, and physical development. I have created different centres in my daycare that will allow the children to explore and experience all of these throughout their day!
The main play area consists of; free play centre, reading/quiet activity centre, creative arts and crafts centre, and a kitchen/dramatic play centre, and an infant play area. I do have a television in the main area. There are some great educational children's programs that I will allow to be played from time to time.
Our backyard is fully fenced. We have just added a new Little Tykes Swing Set to the yard which we are very excited about! There are lots of different toys and things for the children to do with outdoor time as well. We are also close to a couple different parks and during outdoor playtime will go for walks using our walking rope or daycare trolley!

The following are pictures of our daycare space. Click on a photo to view a larger version.
